William Magson Nelson, journalist

William Magson Nelson 1820-1894 is recorded as a writer and press journalist. He was also a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in the 1870’s. His family came from Halifax where his father Joseph Nelson and his brother, Thomas James Nelson were tailors. The latter also had no fewer than four wives! William had three children, John Thomas Nelson became a civil engineer, and Ernest M. Nelson, who died in his thirties was training as a doctor.
